The government of the UK is looking forward to welcome qualified nurses and allied health professionals with recognised training and functional knowledge of English language to provide their services in healthcare sector in the country. The scope of the Visa has been extended to include people in social care sector also.
The frontline workers will be provided a fast track entry and support to come and work in UK along with their families. The healthcare visa was launched on August 4, 2020 and since then several amendments has been made including exempting the eligible people and their dependent family from paying health surcharge for Immigration.

Employer specifications :
The company must give a brief explanation in the Certificate of Sponsorship outlining how the employee fits the government's Health and Care Visa eligibility condition. The employer will also be responsible for telling the applicant that they are qualified for the Health and Care Visa so that the applicant may complete the visa application form appropriately. When an employer delivers services commissioned by the NHS, documentation of contract agreements with the NHS may be required to be supplied to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) as confirmation that applicants are qualified to apply for a Health and Care Visa.
Important :
An eligible healthcare professional must hold a confirm job offer before applying for the health and care visa.
Language abilities :
As the United Kingdom is is monolingual country with 95% of the population speaking just English and the 5% is a combination of all european language it is imperative for the eligible professional to establish and determine his/her language abilities in order to demonstrate his/her ability to adjust and work professionally in the healthcare system of the UK. On a scale of CEFR level the English language requirement for the health and care visa is level B2. This is an lower independent English language ability and the user is able to communicate in a clear manner and is able to understand situations while providing the other person clarity about his own opinion. B2 is a general requirement to work or intern in many English speaking countries.

How long can you stay?
Your visa might be valid for up to 5 years before it has to be extended. When your visa expires or if you move employment or employers, you must apply to renew or amend it.
If you intend to stay in the UK for an extended period of time:
You may apply to renew your visa as many times as you choose, as long as you continue to fulfil the qualifying conditions.
After 5 years, you may be eligible to apply for permanent residency in the UK (sometimes known as 'Indefinite Leave to Remain). This provides you the right to live, work, and study in the country for as long as you like, as well as seek for benefits if you qualify.
